Google Reader Part 2: Recommended Industry and Technology Blogs

Since the Google Reader post got such good reviews, I thought that I would make it easy for you to get “plugged in” (or Turned On for you 1000Watt Readers) to some of what I feel to be the best blogs out there.
Where I believe that these represent many different types of elements that could [...]

If you haven’t met Seth Godin yet, it’s time you introduced yourself…. Better yet, introduce yourself to his blog and his way of thinking.
SETH GODIN is a bestselling author, entrepreneur and agent of change.  More importantly he is a lifesaver for the real estate industry, and any other that depends on a living, breathing consumer.  [...]

The Philanthropic Value of The You Factor – The @properties Rebuilding Together Project

On a chilly April day in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, I was lucky enough to be part of an epiphany.  Our company, @properties, was sponsoring a home through Rebuilding Together, and April 26th was our work day.  Englewood, a troubled community on the South Side of Chicago had recently had it’s fair share of [...]

I love this video and what it is trying to convey to the general public.
Will it work?  — That remains to be seen.
In an attempt to become more “human”, “likeable”, and “Just Like Us” Dan Hesse, CEO of Sprint/Nextel has issued this advertising campaign in an attempt to “stem the bleeding that is their customer [...]

Begin Your Blog Reading Behavior with Google Reader

Read any real estate magazine, talk to any coach, or read any literature, and they will most surely say the same thing… “GET BLOGGING!”
Where I have recommended this to a number of the agents that I work with, my first recommendation is to take your time, find your voice, and read some to find out [...]

In the latest issue of Chicago Magazine (www.chicagomag.com), Dennis Rodkin has written an article about our recent release of The @Report – A Local Look at the Performance of 21 Chicago Neighborhoods. This report, in comparison to others in our area, was born with the idea in mind that real estate is local… very [...]

“Sell By Owner” Misguided Information from One Inside the Industry

I know that I am veering away from my second installment of Web 2.0 statistics but after reading this post (http://www.inman.com/blog/2008/05/2/take-it-agent-sell-owner) on Inman yesterday, I decided I needed to comment.  In fact I URGE everyone and anyone of the real estate community to read this article, forward it, and make sure it is recognized what [...]

About

Matthew Dollinger I would like to consider myself a real estate martyr, but I think that's a little drastic.

How I would like to position myself in the industry is somewhat of a "conduit" between agents/brokers and those continually innovating tomorrow's real estate model. I believe that Real Estate needs to ditch the mentality that it's "more than a business" and truly look to innovative companies, (regardless of industry), and learn from them. It's how we will grow and succeed in this marketplace.

I am constantly looking for new partners that share a passion for learning, innovating and implementing ideas. If you have a thought, idea, or would like to share, simply reach out to me.
