Why Scribd.com has moved to #1 on my Cool List for Blogging

So I’ve been playing around with a number of free online hosting sites as of late. Since we in Chicago have the ability to access some of the most complete and up-to-date real estate statistics via Agent Metrics by Terradatum, it’s really come down to a couple of things.

When the going gets tough… the tough go for a joyride.

The years to come in Real Estate will not be easy, will not always be fun, and sometimes… will be heart wrenching for us and our clients. When these elements come to our lives, it’s easy to get derailed and come down hard on ourselves. So remember these simple words as rules to live by and i believe it will help us all get through this difficult time.

Why the idea of 2.0 might have a long way to go.

To those of us that have made our job, livelihood or passion around this modern day technology, most of this is pretty basic. Calling Brokers and Realtors – Get in or Get out… and Get Doing

My friend Marc Davison over at 1000watt Consulting wrote a post the other day called A House Divided that I think truly addressed the situation that we in the industry are facing right now. “Let’s not beat around the bush. There are deep issues festering in real estate. I’ve addressed some of them: The disconnect [...]

Advertising vs. Marketing (Part 2) Know your Clients to Know the Difference

This is a follow up to my original post “You’re NOT Marketing… How to STOP Advertising and Start Marketing!”. This Utterz talks more about HOW to incorporate the knowledge of your target audience into your efforts to create true MARKETING campaigns instead of Advertising.

You’re NOT Marketing… How to STOP Advertising and Start Marketing?

scrap

So, I’m driving down the road today and had to take a picture of this. Why? Because it reminded me of how so many companies (not just real estate companies) approach their marketing efforts… Even more so, it made me think about how many people, (and industries), don’t know the difference between ADVERTISING and MARKETING.
